Download a Premiere project (.prproj) or Resolve project (.drp)

Where the .prproj and .drp downloads are, what each file keeps, what it leaves out, and what an export costs.

Eddie can hand you a finished edit as a native project file: a Premiere Pro .prproj or a DaVinci Resolve .drp. Eddie builds the file on its own servers in a few seconds, and your browser downloads it.

Where to find them

Open the edit and open the Export menu.

  • Send to has one button per app. The Premiere Pro button downloads the .prproj by default. The DaVinci Resolve button downloads the .drp by default.
  • The small arrow beside each button shows the other choice: Premiere XML for Premiere Pro 2018 and older, and a Resolve FCPXML that imports into a project you already have open.
  • All export options… lists every format. Look for Premiere project (.prproj) and Resolve 21 project (.drp — best for multicam).

The rows need an edit with at least one clip in it.

The Premiere project (.prproj)

  • Keeps bins, crops, clip gains, the audio channel layout and multicam.
  • If the edit has captions, the download is a ZIP with the project and an SRT file. See Move captions, and get captions into your editing app.
  • If you muted a track in Eddie, it arrives muted on the mixer, with the media still in place.

The Resolve project (.drp)

  • Opens as a new Resolve 21 project, with switchable multicam, dual-system sound and each clip's crop.
  • Does not carry the motion ramp, the color grade or levelled audio. The project's notes name what was left out.
  • The Resolve FCPXML carries the motion ramp and levelled audio, but brings multicam in as plain cuts. Some editors import both.
  • Neither file brings your color grade into Resolve. Grade on Resolve's Color page.

What media the file points to

Cost

A timeline export costs 100 credits per export, the same for the .prproj, the .drp and every other timeline format. Each download that builds a file is one export. Nothing is charged if the file fails to build.
