Recipes and house style: repeat what works
Save a prompt that worked as a recipe the whole workspace can run, and keep a house style with brand kits, reference videos and dictionaries.
When a prompt gives you the edit you want, you can use it again. When your videos need one look, you can give Eddie that look once. Here is how.
Recipes: save a prompt that worked
A recipe is a saved prompt with blanks, for example "Cut a {length} teaser for {platform}". It belongs to the workspace, so every member can run it.
Save one. In a project, find the run that gave you the result, and select Save as recipe on it. Eddie suggests a name and which parts of the prompt become blanks. Change them if you want, then save.
Run one. In a project, open the suggestions page, What should Eddie make?. Your workspace's recipes are under Your team's recipes, after Eddie's built-in ones. Pick one and fill in the blanks. You can also ask: "run our client-review recipe".
Manage them. The recipe library at app.heyeddie.ai/recipes lists every recipe your workspace saved. You can review and remove recipes there. You create them from a run, not on that page.
Cost. Saving a recipe is free. Running one starts a normal prompt run, billed like any other run. See How credits and billing work.
Only members of the workspace see its recipes. A guest on a share link does not.
House style: tell Eddie your look once
There is no single house-style setting. You build a house style from these parts:
- Brand kit — your logo, fonts and two brand colors. Titles, captions and motion graphics use them, and Eddie can place your logo as a watermark. See Brand kits: logo, fonts and colors.
- Reference video — a video whose style Eddie copies: pacing, shot choices, transitions, color, graphics and structure. Say "edit this like my reference". It costs 500 credits to add. See Backgrounder: give Eddie context.
- Reference edit — an FCPXML, OTIO or Premiere XML file of a cut you made. Eddie copies the qualities you tick, such as pacing and structure. It costs 10 credits to add.
- Brief and dictionary — your rules in words, and the names Eddie must spell right. Each costs 10 credits to add.
- A recipe — for the steps you repeat on every video.
Put these in a Backgrounder folder and attach the folder to each project. A change to the folder reaches every project that uses it on its next prompt.
