Uninstall the desktop app

You can uninstall the Eddie desktop app the same way you remove any other application on your operating system.

Uninstalling on Mac

  1. Quit Eddie if it's running (Eddie menu → Quit, or Cmd+Q).
  2. Open Finder → Applications.
  3. Drag the Eddie app to the Trash, or right-click it and choose Move to Trash.
  4. Empty the Trash to finish removing it from your machine.

Uninstalling on Windows

  1. Quit Eddie if it's running (check the system tray for a running instance).
  2. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps (or Control Panel → Programs and Features on older Windows versions).
  3. Find Eddie in the list, click it, and choose Uninstall.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete removal.

What happens to your projects

Uninstalling the desktop app only removes the local application — it does not delete your projects, media, or edits, which live in your Eddie workspace in the cloud. You can reinstall the desktop app at any time and sign back in to pick up where you left off, or keep working entirely from the web app in the meantime.

Reinstalling later

If you want to come back to the desktop app, just follow the steps in Install the desktop app again — no need to re-import anything, since your work is tied to your account, not to the local install.
