Can you fix how a word is pronounced in a voice-over?
AI voice-over and dubbing don't currently support pronunciation overrides, so the engine picks pronunciation from the text you give it.
Short answer
There's currently no way to control how a specific word is pronounced in an AI-generated voice-over or dub. The voice-over tool takes plain text and a voice choice, and the text-to-speech engine decides pronunciation on its own from the words as written — there's no phonetic spelling, no IPA, and no SSML-style pronunciation tags exposed.
What to do if a word comes out wrong
Since the only input is the script text itself, the most reliable workaround is to change how the word is spelled in the script you give Eddie, so the engine reads it the way you want it pronounced:
- Break a tricky name into syllables the way it sounds — for example spelling a name phonetically rather than by its correct spelling.
- Swap in a more common word that's pronounced the same way, if the exact spelling doesn't matter for anything else (captions, on-screen text).
- Try a different voice — some voices handle unusual names or technical terms more accurately than others, so a quick preview swap can sometimes fix it without changing the script at all.
If you regenerate
Asking Eddie to regenerate the voice-over or dub with adjusted script text is the normal way to apply a spelling fix — it doesn't retroactively edit a single word in an existing generated clip.
