Export or download link not working
If a render's download link won't open, re-exporting usually generates a fresh working link.
Why this happens
When you export or render a project, Eddie gives you a direct download URL for the finished file. Occasionally that link can go stale — for example if it pointed at a cached render, or too much time passed between when it was generated and when you clicked it.
What to try first
- Click the link again, ideally right after it's given to you.
- Copy and paste the URL into a new browser tab rather than clicking it inside a chat client — some in-app browsers block direct file downloads.
- Check your Downloads folder — some browsers download silently without visibly opening anything.
If it still doesn't work
Ask Eddie to re-export the same edit. This kicks off a brand-new render rather than reusing a cached one, so you'll get a fresh, different download link. In most cases this resolves the issue.
If the new link still doesn't work, note exactly what happens when you click it:
- Nothing loads / it times out
- You see a 404 or error page
- It downloads but the file won't open or play
That detail helps narrow down whether it's a network issue, a browser/client issue, or something on Eddie's side. If none of the above resolves it, contact support with the failing link and what you observed.
