Bookmarks and labels: organizing what you find

Eddie marks footage two ways: bookmarks for standout moments, and labels for anything else you want to group or find again — a topic, a shot type, a subject.

Bookmark a transcript segment

Click the bookmark icon next to any line in the transcript. A bookmarked segment gets a star, and stays visible in the transcript's bookmarks filter so you can jump straight back to it.

You can also ask Eddie to do this for you:

"Bookmark the strongest, most quotable soundbites."

The built-in Log the footage recipe does this automatically as part of import — it bookmarks and labels the best moments across every source, before you've asked for a single edit.

Label a source, multicam group, or transcript segment

Labels are short tags — usually one to four words — that Eddie chooses and applies when you ask for one. Describe what you want labeled; Eddie picks the wording:

"Label every clip that's a wide establishing shot." "Label the transcript segments where she talks about the budget."

Once applied:

• Labeled sources and multicam groups group into collapsible sections in the project sidebar, marked with a tag icon.
• Labeled transcript segments show a label pill under the speaker's name.
• The transcript panel's filter menu lists every label in use, plus a dedicated Bookmarks filter, so you can show only what's tagged.

To remove a label, click the × on its pill in the transcript, or on the label in the sidebar's group header.

Good to know

• A bookmark is a label under the hood — it's the one kind you can toggle yourself with a click. Custom labels come from asking Eddie; there's no separate button for typing your own label text yet.
• Labels and bookmarks are for finding your way back to footage — they don't change what Eddie cuts on their own. If you want an edit to use only labeled or bookmarked material, say so explicitly in your prompt.
• Ask what you can ask Eddie to do if you're not sure how to phrase a labeling request.
