Eddie and Frame.io
Frame.io is where a lot of teams keep their footage and all of their notes. Eddie works with both halves: edit from the media you have there, deliver the finished cut back into it, and see the review comments beside the edit rather than in another tab.
Edit from what is already in Frame.io
Connect your account and pick the footage you want. Camera to Cloud to Eddie: the media comes in from Frame.io directly, so a shoot that landed overnight is ready to cut without anybody moving files around.
Deliver the cut back
When the edit is right, send it to Frame.io. The rendered MP4 lands in the workspace you connected, and the Premiere XML timeline can ride along with it so an editor picking the project up has the sequence as well as the video.
Work the notes without leaving the edit
Comments made in Frame.io come back into Eddie and appear against the edit they are about. Review happens where your team already reviews, and the changes happen where the edit already is.
Questions
- Does my footage have to be downloaded first?
- No. Pick the files in Frame.io and Eddie brings them in for you — you do not download to your machine and upload again.
- What gets delivered back to Frame.io?
- The rendered MP4, into the workspace you have connected. If you want the timeline alongside it, switch on the Premiere XML option and both land together.
- How do the comments work?
- Review comments left in Frame.io are brought back into Eddie and shown against the edit they belong to, so you can act on a note without keeping two tabs in sync.
- Can I do this from the desktop app?
- The Frame.io connection is set up on the web, so delivery back to Frame.io is a web feature. Importing footage and editing work the same everywhere.
