Use Eddie from Claude or ChatGPT (or any MCP client)
Connect Eddie to Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client and drive the same projects from your AI chat.
Eddie is built on MCP (Model Context Protocol), which means you can drive it from Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP-capable client — your AI chat becomes the edit bay.
There is no separate Eddie app to install for this, and no per-client version: one connector URL works everywhere, and every client sees the same projects, the same footage and the same credits.
Connect
- In Claude, ChatGPT or whichever MCP client you use, add a custom connector with this URL:
https://mcp.heyeddie.ai/api/mcp
In both Claude and ChatGPT this lives under Settings → Connectors. Adding a custom connector is a paid-plan feature in both, and in some ChatGPT plans it sits behind developer mode — if you cannot find the option, that is what to check first.
- Sign in when prompted — the connector uses the same Eddie account as the web app.
- Ask for an edit: "List my Eddie projects", "Cut project X down to a 2-minute highlight and add captions."
What the connector can do
Everything Prompt Eddie can: read transcripts, build and refine cuts, add b-roll, captions, titles and motion graphics, generate music with auto-ducking, switch multicam angles, reframe for vertical, color grade, and export — timeline files or a finished MP4 with a download link.
The tools are identical whichever client you connect from. What differs is the assistant driving them, so the two can word things differently or take a different route to the same edit — the edit itself lands in the same place either way.
Good to know
- Same projects, same credits. Work started in a chat shows up in the web app and vice versa — including work started in a different chat client. You can begin a cut in one and finish it in the other.
- Reconnect after updates. MCP clients cache tool lists; if a tool seems missing or behaves oddly, disconnect and reconnect the connector.
- Ask it for help. The connector can search these help articles too — support questions get answered with a link to the relevant page.
