What you can ask Eddie to do

Eddie understands your footage and your transcript, then acts on what you ask for in plain words.

The two jobs most people start with

1. Cut the interview. Eddie reads the transcripts, picks the best answers and assembles them into a story. This is the core of the product.

"Build a rough cut from these interviews. Pull the strongest soundbites from each speaker and put them in an order that tells a clear story. Aim for about 8 minutes."

Then you revise it in the same conversation: "start on the second question", "drop the pricing section", "remove filler words and long pauses".

2. Cover it with b-roll. B-roll plays over the interview as picture only, so the speaker's audio keeps carrying the edit.

"Add b-roll over the rough cut. Match the shots to what the speakers are talking about, and stay on the person for the intro and the most emotional lines."

B-roll has to be in the project before Eddie can place it. Use your own footage, find stock b-roll, or generate a clip when neither has the shot.

The rest of the menu

Once the cut exists, you can layer on:

• Words — remove filler and silences, adjust pauses and pacing, fix speaker names
• Text on screen — captions and subtitles, titles and graphics, motion graphics
• Sound — music, voice-over and audio, sound effects, dubbing into another language, and clean-up of wind, hum and noise under a voice (paid)
• Picture — color grading, crop and reframe for social, speed ramps, stabilization, blur or hide part of the picture
• Multicam — sync the angles and switch between them. See Multicam: the complete guide.
• Hand-off — export to Premiere, Final Cut, Resolve, Avid or OTIO, or render an MP4.

What Eddie can't do

A few requests come up often enough to be worth stating plainly. No current tool covers them.

• Background removal and green-screen cutout. Eddie can't isolate a person from their background. That needs a compositing tool like Premiere, Resolve or After Effects.
• Style transforms, such as turning real footage into an anime look. Eddie can approximate a feel with color grading and bold captions, but it won't redraw your footage.

If you ask for one of these, Eddie says so directly rather than faking a result, and it usually suggests the closest thing it can actually do.
