Work in your DaVinci Resolve cloud project with Eddie
Share a Blackmagic Cloud project library with Eddie and it joins as a collaborator — transcribing, logging and cutting inside your own DaVinci Resolve project.
Eddie can join a DaVinci Resolve project that lives in Blackmagic Cloud and work inside it as a collaborator — it transcribes and logs your synced footage, then writes markers, selects and cut timelines back into your own project. Eddie mirrors your cloud project into a new Eddie project; nothing is added to any other project of yours.
Before you start: turn on media sync
This is the step people miss, and without it nothing else works. In Blackmagic Cloud the project must be set to sync its media — choose Sync Proxies (or Proxies + Originals), not Don't Sync Media. If the project isn't syncing media, Eddie can open it and see every clip, but the footage never reaches Eddie: every clip shows offline and there is nothing to cut.
Turn media sync on before you invite Eddie. Resolve won't let you change a project's sync setting while another user (Eddie) has it open, so if Eddie is already connected and you forgot this step, disconnect Eddie first, switch sync on, then reconnect. After you enable it, give the media a few minutes to finish syncing to the cloud.
Share the library with Eddie
- Open the Blackmagic Cloud connect card and copy the Eddie Blackmagic ID it shows.
- In DaVinci Resolve (or Blackmagic Cloud), open your project library and choose Share Project Library, then add that Eddie ID.
Sharing the library is what grants access — adding Eddie to a Blackmagic organization is not enough.
Connect the project
- Confirm media sync is on — the card asks you to check this before you can continue.
- Type the project name exactly as it appears in Resolve, including anything like "(Copy)". If you belong to more than one organization, add the organization name too.
- Press I've invited Eddie. To confirm you have edit access, Eddie asks you to create a small verification bin in the project — the card shows the exact name to use. Eddie then connects within a few minutes.
Once connected, Eddie's work — markers, selects and any timelines it builds — appears inside your own cloud project.
