Export formats

Every file Eddie writes

Eddie finishes where your edit continues. Take the cut into Premiere, Resolve, Final Cut or Avid as a timeline, deliver it as an MP4, or take the words and the logs on their own. This page lists every export, and says plainly what each one carries and what it leaves behind.

What survives the trip

Every timeline format carries your cuts. They differ in what else comes with them, and the difference is bigger than it looks — an EDL hands over the cuts and nothing more, while the Resolve FCPXML brings your crop, motion, colour and audio levels along.

Timelines for your editor

Your edit as a file another editing application opens. Nothing is rendered and nothing is baked — these point at your original media.

  • Premiere XML.xmlThe older Premiere interchange format, for Premiere 2018 and earlier.

Video files

A finished picture, rendered.

  • Generated assets.zipEvery generated voice-over clip and the music track as audio files, named to match the tracks in your exported timeline.

Captions and transcripts

The words, timed against the edit you exported rather than the raw footage.

Logs and documents

What Eddie found in your footage, as a document or a table.

  • Google SheetThe CSV logs, delivered into your Google Drive instead of downloaded.
  • Google DocThe Word logs, delivered into your Google Drive instead of downloaded.

Sent to a platform

The render delivered into a platform you have connected, rather than downloaded.

  • Send to Frame.ioThe rendered MP4 delivered into your connected Frame.io, optionally with a Premiere XML alongside it.
  • Send to iconikThe rendered MP4 delivered into your connected iconik as an asset, optionally with a Premiere XML.

What exports cost

Included — this export costs no credits. Subtitles, transcripts and footage logs are included. Timeline files for another editor use credits — one price for the artifact, whichever window produced it. Renders use credits at the standard export rate, and ProRes captions are the most expensive export Eddie offers.
