Make your first AI edit
Open Prompt Eddie, describe the edit you want in plain language, and refine the cut with follow-up prompts.
Once your footage is processed, you direct the edit by prompting Eddie in plain language.
Make the cut
- Open Prompt Eddie.
- Describe what you want, being specific about the outcome:
- "Cut this 40-minute interview to a 3-minute highlight of the best answers."
- "Remove filler words and long pauses, then add captions."
- "Make a 30-second vertical teaser for Instagram."
- Eddie works through the footage and builds an edit — you'll see the timeline and transcript fill in as it goes.
Watch and refine
Editing is a conversation. After the first pass, keep going:
- "The intro drags — start on the second question."
- "Add b-roll wherever they mention the product."
- "Punch up the color and add a title card."
Each prompt adjusts the same edit; you're steering, not starting over.
If a result looks off
- Check the transcript — Eddie edits from it, so a transcription problem becomes an editing problem. See Transcripts and speakers.
- Ask Eddie to explain: "why did you cut the middle section?"
- Learn to brief it well: How to prompt Eddie.
When you're happy, export to your editor or render an MP4.
