Can Eddie mark clips as Final Cut Pro Favorites?

Eddie can rate and log every clip's best moments, but it can't yet write those ranges into Final Cut Pro as Favorites — export a timeline of the selected moments instead.

You can ask Eddie to review your footage and pick out the best, most usable moments — it rates every clip and notes framing, movement and other quality signals as part of logging. What it can't do yet is write those picks into a Final Cut Pro library as Favorites (the browser markers that show a clip range as a favorite rating).

Why this doesn't work today

Eddie's Final Cut Pro export builds an FCPXML timeline — an edit, with clips placed at their in and out points. It does not write Favorite or Rejected ranges onto clips sitting in your Final Cut browser. There's no export option that marks up your library directly; only a timeline comes across.

This is a real gap, not a setting to turn on — we've logged it as a missing feature for the team.

What to do instead

If what you need is the best moments laid out somewhere you can review them, ask Eddie to put them on a timeline rather than asking for Favorites specifically:

"Find the best, most usable moments across all my clips and build them into one timeline, in order."

Eddie can build this as a stringout — one clip after another, each trimmed to its best in/out range — and export it to Final Cut Pro as a normal FCPXML timeline. You get the same underlying selection work (which moments are good, and where they start and end), just delivered as a sequence of clips on a timeline instead of browser Favorites.

From there, you can manually mark ranges as Favorites inside Final Cut Pro once the timeline is in your library, if you still want that marking for your own organization.
