Send to iconik and get review comments back

Eddie can deliver a finished edit straight into your iconik library — the MP4, optionally the editable timeline, filed into a collection. Comments your team leaves on it in iconik come back into Eddie.

You connect iconik once per workspace. After that it's one click per edit.

Before you start

• You need to be the owner of the Eddie workspace. Other members can see whether iconik is connected, but only the owner can connect it.
• You need to be an administrator in iconik, because generating an API token is an admin action.
• Connect iconik in the Eddie web app at app.heyeddie.ai — not in the desktop app.

Step 1 — Create an application token in iconik

Eddie talks to iconik using an application token: a pair of values called an App-ID and a Token.

1. In iconik, click ADMIN in the top navigation.
2. Choose Settings in the left navigation bar.
3. Choose Application Tokens.
4. Enter an Application name — something like Eddie AI so you recognise it later.
5. Choose the username the token runs as. This matters: the token inherits that person's permissions, so pick a user who can create assets and collections and upload files. If you pick a read-only user, Eddie's uploads will fail.
6. Click + ADD.
7. iconik shows you an App-ID and a Token.

Copy both somewhere safe right now — a password manager is ideal. iconik displays the token only once and it can never be retrieved again. If you lose it, delete the entry and create a new one.

Step 2 — Connect iconik in Eddie

1. Go to app.heyeddie.ai and sign in.
2. Click your workspace name at the bottom of the left sidebar.
3. Choose Integrations.
4. Find the iconik row and click Connect.
5. Paste your App-ID into the first box and your Token into the second.
6. Click Save.

Shortcut: app.heyeddie.ai/new?integrations=1 opens this panel directly.

How you know it worked: the iconik row now says connected and shows the last few characters of your App-ID, like app …4f9c21. If the credentials are wrong, Eddie tells you straight away rather than failing later.

Step 3 — Send an edit

1. Open a project and select the edit you want to deliver.
2. Click Export in the top bar.
3. Choose Send to iconik.
4. Optionally tick Include edit's xml to also upload the editable timeline as its own asset, so an editor can open the cut in Premiere. It's off by default — the plain delivery is the MP4 only.

That's the whole thing. You can close the tab; the send continues on Eddie's servers.

What happens next

Eddie renders the MP4 in the cloud, creates the asset in iconik, uploads the file, and files it into a collection called Eddie Exports (created automatically the first time).

You'll get a notification in the app with an Open in iconik link, an email when it's delivered, and a push notification on your phone if you use the Eddie iPhone app.

Comments come back to Eddie

Once the edit is in iconik, anyone reviewing it there can leave comments on the asset. Eddie checks periodically and pulls those comments back onto the edit's timeline, at the right timecode — so you can act on feedback where you'd actually make the change, without switching back and forth.

This works because the edit went from Eddie to iconik in the first place. That link is what lets Eddie match a comment to the moment in the cut. It's the same round-trip as Frame.io, and once a comment is on the timeline you can ask Eddie to implement it.

If something goes wrong

"Only the workspace owner can connect integrations" — you're a member, not the owner. Ask the workspace owner to do Step 2.

Eddie rejects the App-ID or Token — usually a copy/paste that picked up a space, or the token pasted into the App-ID box. If you no longer have the token, create a fresh one in iconik (Step 1); the old value cannot be recovered.

The send fails — Eddie tells you, and any credits used are returned automatically. Two things worth checking: the iconik user your token runs as needs permission to create assets and upload files, and your iconik account needs storage available.

The send says it worked but the asset isn't in iconik — please tell us, and include the link Eddie gave you. This is exactly the kind of report that helps.

Good to know

• Your credentials are stored encrypted and are only used for your workspace's own transfers.
• Disconnecting is the same panel as Step 2 — the iconik row has a Disconnect option. Assets already delivered stay in iconik.
• One connection per workspace. Everyone in the workspace sends to the same iconik account; nobody else has to paste credentials.
