Import from Frame.io
Bring footage in from Frame.io — browse your workspace's connected Frame.io account, or import from a public share link — and send finished cuts back for review.
If your team reviews in Frame.io, your footage is probably already there. Eddie imports straight from it — and can send finished cuts back for review, so the whole loop stays in one place.
Two ways to import
Browse your connected Frame.io account. Frame.io is connected once per workspace — open the Integrations screen to connect it, and everyone in the workspace can use it from then on. No second Adobe login per person, and no tokens in your browser. On the import screen, click Frame.io and browse the way Frame.io is organized: account → workspace → project → folders → files. Select the files you want and import.
Paste a public share link. Where the share-link importer is offered, you can paste a Frame.io share link without connecting anything. Eddie resolves the share, shows what's in it — file count, total size and duration — and the estimated import cost before you commit. If a link turns out to need access, Eddie steers you to the account connection instead.
Either way, Eddie transfers the files server-side and runs transcription and analysis like any other import. You can close the tab once it starts.
Good to know
- Estimates come from Frame.io's own clip durations, so the quoted import cost for a Frame.io batch is usually accurate before the transfer even starts. The final charge settles on the actual footage measured at import.
- Download links are fetched at the last moment. Frame.io download URLs expire quickly, so Eddie resolves each one right before transferring — a batch you picked a while ago still imports cleanly.
- Assets still processing in Frame.io may not be importable until Frame.io finishes with them. If a freshly-uploaded clip won't import, give it a moment in Frame.io first.
- Camera RAW that needs a vendor SDK — REDCODE RAW (.r3d), Blackmagic RAW (.braw) and Canon Cinema RAW Light (.crm) can't be read by a cloud import. Import proxies or use the desktop app. See Working with RAW footage.
Troubleshooting
- "Frame.io isn't connected" — the workspace connection hasn't been made yet. Open Integrations and connect Frame.io once for the workspace.
- A share link won't resolve — the share may be private or expired. Ask the sender for a public share link, or connect the account that owns the content and browse to it instead.
- Connection fails entirely — disconnect and reconnect Frame.io from the Integrations screen, then try the import again. Still stuck? See Connect cloud storage.
- An import sits in processing for a long time — see Import stuck or failed.
