Invite your team to a workspace
The step-by-step: create a team workspace, add teammates by email, and share its projects and credits. Owners only.
A workspace is how you share Eddie with the people you work with. This is the step-by-step for setting one up and bringing your team in.
Team workspace vs. My workspace
You start in My workspace — a space just for you. My workspace can't take members. To work with other people you need a team workspace: everyone in it shares the same projects and the same pool of credits.
Only a team workspace takes members, and only its owner can add them.
1. Create a team workspace
- Open the workspace switcher — top-left of your dashboard on the web, or bottom-left in the desktop app.
- Click New workspace, give it a name, and click Create.
- You're now the owner of the new team workspace, and it becomes your active workspace.
A new team workspace starts at 0 credits. Your existing credits and projects stay where they are — nothing moves between workspaces — so buy credits into the new workspace and start your team's projects there. See how credits and billing work.
2. Open the Members panel
In the workspace switcher, click Members — <your workspace>. This opens the members list for the active workspace, on both web and desktop. (Eddie also opens this same panel from its "Invite a teammate" nudge.)
3. Add teammates by email
- In the Members panel, type a teammate's address into the teammate@company.com field.
- Click Add.
- They're added as invited and receive one invitation email.
They don't need an Eddie account yet. You can invite people before they've signed up — the invite is tied to their email and activates automatically the first time they sign in with that address. There's no separate accept step.
Invite a colleague today, and the next time they sign in to Eddie with that same email, they land straight in your workspace — already a member.
What membership means
Being in a workspace is full, shared access. Every member can:
- open and edit every project in the workspace — there are no per-project permissions;
- spend the workspace's shared credits with their imports, prompts and edits — it's one pool, not a per-person allowance;
- see the full member list.
So invite people you're happy to share all of that with. For a client or a freelancer you want to keep to a single project, use Share instead — it's per-project and can be view-only or comment-only.
Remove a member
Only the owner can remove people. In the Members panel, click Remove next to a member's email and their access ends immediately. You can't remove yourself, since you're the owner.
Honest limits
- My workspace can't take members. If you try to add someone to it, Eddie points you to create a team workspace instead — and that new workspace starts empty.
- Everyone sees everything. There are no per-project permissions inside a workspace; every member can open every project. Keep sensitive or client footage in a separate workspace — see what everyone in a workspace can see and spend.
- Credits and projects don't move between workspaces. A project's workspace is fixed when it's imported, and credits never transfer between pools.
- Only the owner can invite or remove people. Everyone else can see the roster but not change it.
