Edit the transcript beside the player and hide the Prompt Eddie panel

Both are in Pro mode. Set the Chat / Pro switch to Pro, select Player to edit the transcript beside the player, and use the chevron on the Prompt Eddie panel to hide it.

Two controls are in Pro mode only: the edit's transcript beside the player, and the button that hides the Prompt Eddie panel. In Chat mode the panel stays open and the view buttons are not shown.

Switch to Pro

Set the Chat / Pro switch at the left of the header to Pro. This browser remembers your choice.

Edit the transcript beside the player

  1. Find the three view icons in the header, to the right of the project name.
  2. Select Player. It is the icon of a screen with a play triangle in it.
  3. The edit's lines are listed beside the player. Click a word to select it. Shift-click, or drag across words, to select a run. Press Delete or Backspace to cut the words from this edit. Select Restore to bring them back. Drag a line by its grip to move it.

The Timeline view does not show the transcript beside the player. The timeline shows your clips on lanes. To see the lines, select Player. To see the clips, select Timeline. You cannot show both at once.

To fix a misheard word, ask Eddie, for example: "It's Zahra, not Sarah." Deleting words does not change the transcript. For all the steps, see Edit by hand. For the full transcript beside your edit, select Paper edit. See Build a cut by hand: the paper edit.

Hide the Prompt Eddie panel

The panel on the right is Prompt Eddie, where you chat with Eddie. It can also show Plan and Adjust tabs. In Pro mode, use either of these:

  • Select the chevron at the top right of the panel. Its name is Collapse Prompt Eddie.
  • Select the Prompt Eddie button at the right end of the header, after Credits, Export and Share.

To open the panel again, select the same Prompt Eddie button in the header. A narrow strip at the right edge of the page has the same button. This browser remembers whether the panel is open.

If you do not see these controls

  • The switch is on Chat. Set it to Pro.
  • Your window is narrower than 768 pixels. The phone layout shows only the player and the Prompt Eddie panel. Widen the window, or use a larger screen.
