Pro credits, Regular credits and which AI model runs your edit

What Pro and Regular credits are, which one a run spends first, and how Eddie chooses the AI model for a run.

Most accounts only ever hold Regular credits. Some also hold Pro credits. This page explains the difference.

Regular credits

Regular credits are the ordinary credits. A new account starts with 1,000 of them, and credit packs sell them: 1,000 for $10, 5,000 for $45, 15,000 for $120 and 50,000 for $350.

Pro credits

You can have Pro credits in two ways:

  • Bought. When the Buy credits dialog offers Pro packs, each Pro pack costs three times the Regular pack of the same size.
  • From a legacy subscription. A legacy Eddie subscription adds its monthly credits as Pro credits.

When you hold Pro credits, the Credits menu shows the split, for example "2,000 Pro · 500 Regular".

What each kind pays for

A credit is a credit. Every price in Eddie is the same number of credits whichever kind pays. What changes is the order:

  • Edit runs (your prompts) spend Pro credits first, then Regular.
  • Imports, exports and tools spend Regular credits first, then Pro.

Running out of Pro does not stop a run. A run that uses up your Pro credits continues on Regular credits, and the run's receipt says "Pro credits exhausted — this run continued on Regular credits".

Subscription credits on hold. If a subscription payment fails, its Pro credits stay visible but you cannot spend them until the payment is fixed. The Credits menu says "on hold (subscription payment failed)". To update your card, see Manage your subscription, billing and emails.

Which AI model runs your edit

Eddie chooses the AI model for each run. The kind of credit you pay with does not change the model. If a model is busy or fails, Eddie moves the run to another model and continues, so one outage does not stop your edit.

The receipt under each finished run shows its cost and the model that served it.
