Blend modes for captions and motion graphics
Make captions or a motion graphic mix with the picture: Screen, Multiply, Overlay, Exclusion or Difference. Shown in the player and MP4 exports.
A blend mode sets how captions or a motion graphic mix with the video under them. Normal, the default, sits on top of the picture.
The modes
- Screen — lightens. Good for glows and light leaks.
- Multiply — darkens. Dark shapes print into the picture.
- Overlay — adds contrast and color from the graphic.
- Exclusion and Difference — white text inverts against the picture, the POV vlog look. Pair them with large, bold, white type.
Set it
Ask Eddie: "make the captions invert against the video", or "set the title graphic to screen". You can also pick a blend in the caption track's style controls.
Where it shows
- Player and MP4 exports — yes.
- Timeline exports — captions and graphics come in at Normal. The export notes say so.
Blend modes cost no credits. A prompt run that sets one is billed like any other run.
