Comment emails and comment links
Eddie emails you about new comments and replies, with a still of the frame. A comment link opens the comment on its timeline pin.
When someone comments on an edit, Eddie tells the people who need to know, and every message links straight to the comment.
Who gets an email
- The project owner gets an email about new comments on their project.
- The author of a comment gets an email when someone replies to it.
- A review subscriber gets an email about new comments on that review.
What the email shows
Each email says who commented, at which moment, and on which edit. It quotes the comment inside its thread, with the replies, and shows a still of the frame the comment is on. One button opens the comment itself.

What a comment link opens
A comment link comes from an email, from a Slack or Teams "View comment" button, or from the link icon on a thread card. Opening it selects the comment's edit, switches to the timeline, moves the playhead to the comment's timecode and opens the thread on its pin, as if you had clicked the pin. This works in both Chat and Pro mode.
The comments list opens instead in three cases:
- On a phone, which has no timeline.
- For a comment with no timecode, which has no pin.
- When the comment's edit no longer exists.
If the comment was deleted, or you cannot see comments on that project, Eddie says so.
