If your rushes live in a LucidLink filespace, that is where Eddie reads them. Connect the filespace to your workspace, pick the footage, and cut. No download, no upload, and no second copy of a terabyte of camera media.
Connect the filespace once
The workspace owner saves a LucidLink service account token in workspace settings. That is the whole setup, and it is done once for the team rather than once per editor.
Pick the footage where it already is
Browse the filespace and choose your files, or paste a lucid:// link or a myspace.domain:/footage path. Nothing is downloaded to your machine and uploaded again, and no second copy of the rushes appears anywhere.
Cut, then relink at the far end
Eddie transcribes, logs and cuts from that media like any other project. The timeline you export arrives offline and relinks against your filespace copy, so the sequence comes online with the same originals your team has been working from.

- Do I have to mount the filespace on my machine?
- No. Eddie reads the files through your connected LucidLink account, so the import does not depend on your laptop having the filespace mounted or the footage cached.
- How does my workspace connect to LucidLink?
- The workspace owner saves a LucidLink service account token once, in workspace settings. Everyone in the workspace can then pick footage from the filespace — nobody else has to sign in or hold a credential.
- Can I paste a link instead of browsing?
- Yes. Eddie takes a lucid:// link or a filespace path in the form myspace.domain:/footage. LucidLink has no public links, so either way the files are read through the connected account rather than shared by URL.
- What happens when I export the timeline?
- The timeline comes into your editor offline and relinks against your filespace copy of the media, because Eddie worked from the filespace rather than a local drive. Point the relink at your mounted filespace and the sequence comes online with your original files.
- Does Eddie copy my footage somewhere else?
- Eddie brings in what it needs to analyse and cut. Your filespace stays the place the footage lives, and the delivered timeline points back at it.
