How to add a logo or watermark in DaVinci Resolve
The short answer
Import a PNG of the logo with a transparent background, drag it to the top video track and stretch it over the whole timeline. Then set Zoom and Position under Transform and Opacity under Composite in the Inspector.

5 steps
In DaVinci Resolve
01
Import the logo
Drag a PNG with a transparent background into the Media Pool, or use File > Import > Media.
02
Put it on top
Drag the logo to an empty video track above everything else on the Edit page.
03
Make it last the whole video
Drag the end of the image clip to the end of the timeline. Stills get a default length, which you can set in Preferences > User > Editing > Standard still duration.
04
Size and place it
In the Inspector, lower Zoom and set Position to put the logo in a corner.
05
Fade it back
Under Composite, lower Opacity to about 50 to 70% for a watermark look.
Good to know
Before you start
- Note 1
- A JPG has no transparency and shows as a box. Use PNG or another format with an alpha channel.
Eddie AI
Do it in Eddie
Eddie adds a logo from your brand kit, but the Resolve export only notes it.
A brand kit holds a logo, up to two colors and fonts. Ask "Add our logo as a watermark in the bottom-right" for the whole edit or a timed span; adding it is free. It is baked into Eddie's MP4 renders. Timeline exports note the watermark instead of placing the image, so in Resolve put the logo on the top track as a final pass.
Back to Resolve
Open the edit, click Export and choose Resolve. The default is a Resolve project (.drp) that opens with the timeline built; behind the arrow is a Resolve FCPXML you bring into the project you have open with File > Import > Timeline. In the desktop app, Send to DaVinci Resolve builds the timeline in the Resolve you have running, through Eddie's script (Workspace > Scripts > Eddie AI AE).
If you imported the footage through the desktop app, the timeline points at your original camera files. If you uploaded on the web or pulled from cloud storage, it points at Eddie's proxy media: relink to those in the Media Pool with Relink Selected Clips, not to the camera originals.
