Eddie AI now integrates with Iconik. Bring your managed media straight into Eddie, build logs, stringouts, and rough cuts, then export to Premiere or Resolve.
If your footage lives in a media asset management system, you already know the gap. Your assets are organized, tagged, and searchable. And then the edit still starts from an empty timeline.
Today we're closing that gap. Eddie AI now integrates with Iconik, the creative operations and media asset management platform from Backlight. Iconik stays the source of truth for your media. Eddie becomes the assistant editor that turns it into a cut.
The gap between organized and edited
MAM platforms solved a real problem: with thousands of hours of footage across teams and projects, you need one place where every asset is logged, searchable, and shareable. Iconik does that well.
But organized media is not an edit. Once you have found the right assets, someone still has to watch them, pull the selects, structure the story, and build the rough cut by hand. For teams producing at volume, that assembly work is where the days go.

What the integration does
With Iconik and Eddie connected, the handoff from library to timeline becomes one continuous flow:
Bring selected Iconik assets and their connected proxies straight into Eddie
Eddie generates smarter logs and selects from the footage, including complex multicams
Ask for topic-based stringouts and get back organized bins
Eddie builds a rough cut, an editorial starting point rather than a blank sequence
Export to Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, with clips seamlessly relinking back in Iconik

Raw footage goes in. Logs, selects, stringouts, and a structured rough cut come out. The editor opens a sequence that is already on its feet and spends their time on the decisions that actually need them.
Why it matters
The point of connecting these two tools is not to remove the editor. It is to remove the empty timeline.
As Shamir Allibhai, our co-founder and CEO, put it: "Media asset management helps teams unify their footage. What Eddie adds is the next step: swiftly turning that footage into cuts. With Iconik and Eddie AI together, teams get to a structured rough cut in minutes, while keeping editors in control of the creative decisions that matter."
Backlight sees the same shape from the MAM side. "Iconik and Eddie AI's agentic assistant video editor accelerates the tedious parts of the creative process by connecting rich media management and collaboration tools to the story creation process," said Mike Szumlinski, chief technology officer of Backlight. "This helps our shared customers scale their output and move faster than ever to deliver finished content."
If you're already on Iconik
You have done the hard part of getting your media organized. This connects that library directly to the cut, so your team can move from selected assets to a rough sequence in your NLE of choice, without anyone starting from scratch.
