Eddie AI won Best in Show at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam.
Thank you to everyone who came by the booth, watched the demos, asked hard workflow questions, and pushed us on what an AI assistant editor has to do before it is useful on a real job.
IBC is where broadcast, media technology, post-production and production teams come to inspect the next layer of their workflow. For Eddie, that made this award especially meaningful. We were not only talking about AI in the abstract. We were showing what happens when an assistant editor can work with professional footage, shared projects, scripts, selects, music and timelines that still have to land back in the tools editors already use.
What we showed in Amsterdam
At IBC we showed Eddie v4 and the work around it: rough cuts from raw footage, logging, multicam, music, voiceover, B-roll, review pages, and exports back to professional editing tools.
We also showed the IBC Accelerator work Eddie joined this year, including archival search with RAI material and an assistant-editor workflow inside a Blackmagic Cloud project. That project was a glimpse of where this is going: AI that does useful editorial work inside the same shared environments post teams already run.
Why this matters
Awards are not the point. Working cuts are the point.
But it does matter when people in the media and post-production industry see the same thing we are building toward: AI should not be a separate toy timeline, and it should not stop at generating a clip. It should help a professional team get from footage to decisions faster, while keeping the work portable, reviewable and editable.
That is what Eddie is for.
