How to apply a LUT in Premiere Pro
Short answer
Select the clip, open Lumetri Color, and under Basic Correction choose Input LUT > Browse to load a camera log LUT. For a creative look, open Creative > Look > Browse and pick the .cube file.
In Premiere Pro
01
Pick the right slot
A technical LUT that converts log to Rec.709 goes in Basic Correction > Input LUT. A creative look goes in Creative > Look.
02
Load the LUT
Select the clip, open the menu in Input LUT or Look, choose Browse and select the .cube file.
03
Set the strength
For a creative look, lower Intensity under Creative to blend it with the original.
04
Apply to many clips
To use one look across a scene, choose File > New > Adjustment Layer, put it above the clips and apply the LUT to it.
05
Correct before the look
Fix exposure and white balance in Basic Correction before the creative LUT, so the LUT gets the image it expects.
- A log LUT applied to footage that isn't log looks crushed. Check what your camera recorded.

Do it in Eddie
Eddie can make a LUT from a still you like, and has guides per camera.
Eddie's free Image to LUT tool matches a reference still and gives you a .cube file to load in Lumetri's Look slot. For log footage, follow the camera guide for your curve, such as S-Log3 or Apple Log, which shows where the LUT goes in Premiere.
