How to match color between shots in Premiere Pro
Short answer
Open Lumetri Color > Color Wheels & Match, click Comparison View, set the reference frame on the left, then select the shot to change and click Apply Match.
In Premiere Pro
01
Pick the reference
Choose the shot that looks right. Correct it first.
02
Open Comparison View
Select the clip to fix, open Color Wheels & Match in Lumetri Color, and click Comparison View.
03
Set the reference frame
Drag the slider under the left image, or use the arrows, to find a frame of the reference shot.
04
Apply Match
Click Apply Match. Tick Face Detection if both shots have faces, so Premiere matches skin.
05
Fine-tune
Adjust the color wheels and check both shots on the scopes. Matching gets you close; your eye finishes it.
Eddie AI
Do it in Eddie
Ask Eddie to match the cameras, and it grades them to each other.
Say "Match the color across the two cameras." The match shows in Eddie and in MP4 renders. The Premiere project doesn't carry Eddie's grade, so for a Premiere finish, match there.
Back to Premiere
Open the edit, click Export and choose Premiere. You get a Premiere project (.prproj) or the older Premiere XML. In the desktop app, Send to Premiere Pro builds the edit inside Premiere through Eddie's panel, which the app installs for you.
If you imported the footage through the desktop app, the timeline points at your original camera files, so Premiere relinks to them. If you uploaded on the web or pulled from cloud storage, it points at Eddie's proxy media; relink to those, not to the camera originals.

Questions
- Why does Apply Match make it worse?
- The reference frame or the shot has very different content. Pick frames with similar subjects and light.
- Can I match multicam angles?
- Yes. Match each camera's clips to the main angle before or after the multicam cut.
