How to add a logo or watermark in Premiere Pro

Short answer

Import a PNG of the logo with a transparent background, put it on the top video track over the whole sequence, then set Scale, Position and Opacity in Effect Controls.

In Premiere Pro

  1. 01

    Import the logo

Choose File > Import and select a PNG with transparency.

  2. 02

    Place it on top

Drag it to the highest video track and stretch it to the length of the sequence.

  3. 03

    Size and place it

Set Scale and Position in Effect Controls. A corner inside the title-safe margin is usual.

  4. 04

    Make it subtle

Lower Opacity to 50 to 70% so it doesn't distract.

  • Still images default to five seconds. Change it in Settings > Timeline > Still Image Default Duration, or stretch the clip.

Do it in Eddie

Eddie adds a logo from your brand kit, but the timeline export only notes it.

A brand kit holds a logo, up to two colors and fonts, and adding the logo as a watermark is free. It is baked into Eddie's MP4 renders. Timeline exports note the watermark instead of placing the image, so in Premiere add the logo on the top track.

Back to Premiere

Open the edit, click Export and choose Premiere. You get a Premiere project (.prproj) or the older Premiere XML. In the desktop app, Send to Premiere Pro builds the edit inside Premiere through Eddie's panel, which the app installs for you.

If you imported the footage through the desktop app, the timeline points at your original camera files, so Premiere relinks to them. If you uploaded on the web or pulled from cloud storage, it points at Eddie's proxy media; relink to those, not to the camera originals.

How do I add a logo to every video?
Save the logo clip with its settings as a preset, or keep a template sequence with it already placed.
