How to export for Instagram Reels and TikTok in Premiere Pro
Short answer
Edit in a 1080 x 1920 sequence, then export H.264 with Match Source - High bitrate. Keep captions and titles inside the middle of the frame, away from the app's buttons.
In Premiere Pro
01
Use a vertical sequence
Make the sequence 1080 x 1920, or use Sequence > Auto Reframe Sequence on a landscape edit.
02
Check the safe area
Keep captions and text out of the bottom fifth and the right edge, where the platform's captions and buttons sit.
03
Export H.264
In Export mode, choose H.264 and Match Source - High bitrate. Keep the frame rate at 30 fps or your sequence's rate.
04
Keep it short
Check the length against the platform's limit before exporting.
Eddie AI
Do it in Eddie
Eddie makes the vertical cuts and renders them.
Ask "Cut five short vertical clips from the strongest moments, under 45 seconds." Eddie reframes each shot around the subject in 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5, and a stated maximum length is a hard limit. Ask for punch captions for short-form. Export each edit as an MP4, or ask "Export all my edits as MP4s" to get one link per edit.
