Short answer
Press M to drop a marker at the playhead. Press M again on the marker, or double-click it, to name it, write a comment and pick a color.
In Premiere Pro
01
Drop a marker
Press M while the Timeline is active to add a sequence marker at the playhead. Select a clip first to add a clip marker instead.
02
Edit it
Double-click the marker to name it, add a comment, set a duration and pick a color.
03
List them
Choose Window > Markers to see every marker, jump to one, and filter by color.
04
Jump between them
Press Shift+M to go to the next marker and Cmd+Shift+M or Ctrl+Shift+M to go back.
- Chapter markers can be exported with some formats for YouTube chapter timestamps and DVD menus.
Eddie AI
Do it in Eddie
Review comments on an Eddie edit come into Premiere as markers.
Each comment pinned to a moment in the edit becomes one marker on the exported timeline. Its name is the comment, and its note holds the author, whether the thread is resolved, and the replies. This works in the .prproj and the Premiere XML.
Back to Premiere
Open the edit, click Export and choose Premiere. You get a Premiere project (.prproj) or the older Premiere XML. In the desktop app, Send to Premiere Pro builds the edit inside Premiere through Eddie's panel, which the app installs for you.
If you imported the footage through the desktop app, the timeline points at your original camera files, so Premiere relinks to them. If you uploaded on the web or pulled from cloud storage, it points at Eddie's proxy media; relink to those, not to the camera originals.
