How to edit multicam in Premiere Pro
Short answer
Select the camera clips, right-click and choose Create Multi-Camera Source Sequence, sync by audio, and put it in a sequence. Turn on the Multi-Camera view in the Program Monitor and click an angle, or press 1, 2, 3, to cut to it.
In Premiere Pro
01
Create the source sequence
In the Project panel, select every camera clip and the separate audio, right-click and choose Create Multi-Camera Source Sequence.
02
Sync the cameras
Under Synchronize Point, choose Audio to sync on the sound, or Timecode if the cameras were jammed. Choose which camera's audio to keep and click OK.
03
Make an edit sequence
Right-click the new multicam source sequence and choose New Sequence From Clip.
04
Open the Multi-Camera view
In the Program Monitor, click the wrench icon and choose Multi-Camera, or add the Toggle Multi-Camera View button.
05
Cut between angles
Play the sequence and click an angle, or press the number keys 1 to 9, to cut to it. Stop, and Premiere shows the cuts on the timeline.
06
Fix cuts
To change one cut, select the clip segment and press another number, or right-click and choose Multi-Camera > a camera.
- If the number keys move the playhead, click in the Program Monitor first so it is the active panel.
Eddie AI
Do it in Eddie
Eddie syncs the cameras and cuts the multicam from a prompt.
Import the cameras together and Eddie syncs them by audio, with timecode as a fallback. There's no multicam setting to turn on. Then ask, for example, "Cut to whoever's talking, and hold the wide shot for the back-and-forth", or "Cut to Sarah" for one moment.
A group Eddie synced arrives in the Premiere project as a native multicam clip, so you can keep switching angles. In Premiere, choose Multi-Camera > Enable once per sequence. A multicam you built in Premiere comes back only through Send to Premiere Pro in the desktop app.
Back to Premiere
Open the edit, click Export and choose Premiere. You get a Premiere project (.prproj) or the older Premiere XML. In the desktop app, Send to Premiere Pro builds the edit inside Premiere through Eddie's panel, which the app installs for you.
If you imported the footage through the desktop app, the timeline points at your original camera files, so Premiere relinks to them. If you uploaded on the web or pulled from cloud storage, it points at Eddie's proxy media; relink to those, not to the camera originals.

Questions
- Why won't Premiere sync my multicam by audio?
- Every camera needs usable scratch audio of the same moment. Try Timecode or a clap at the start.
- How many angles can Premiere multicam handle?
- The Multi-Camera view shows up to 16 angles. Playback depends on your computer, so use proxies for many 4K angles.
