THE SHORT ANSWER
Here's the approach.
Resolve Studio 20 adds Animated Fusion title templates for subtitle tracks. They work with Resolve’s transcription engine to coordinate highlighting and animation with spoken words. The New Features Guide labels AI Animated Subtitles as Studio-only.
Apply the template to the subtitle track header, rather than to a single video clip. Then adjust the template parameters in the Inspector and review the wording, timing and readability of the subtitles.
See the workflow.
