Stabilizing shaky footage
Eddie doesn't currently have a stabilization or warp-stabilizer tool for shaky or handheld footage.
What Eddie can't do yet
Eddie doesn't have a built-in stabilization feature — there's no equivalent to a warp stabilizer or motion smoothing tool for shaky or handheld clips. If you ask for stabilization, Eddie will tell you this isn't available rather than attempt it.
What to do instead
If your footage needs stabilizing:
- Stabilize it in your camera app, phone editor, or an NLE (like Premiere's Warp Stabilizer or Resolve's stabilization) before importing into Eddie
- Then bring the stabilized file into Eddie as your source for editing
Related speed and motion changes
Eddie can still handle other timing and motion adjustments once footage is imported, such as:
- Speed ramps (for example, retiming 60fps footage to play back at a slower rate for slow motion)
- Cinematic motion like subtle push/drift on static shots
If motion effects are being applied where you don't want them (for example, unwanted zoom/drift on a static talking-head shot), you can ask Eddie to turn off motion on those specific segments in your edit.
Stabilization requests are tracked as a feature gap, so this may change in the future — check back here if you need it.
